Output Messenger provides a means for coworkers, remote employees, and people from offices spread around various locations, to stay in touch. As its name so adequately points out, Output Messenger is an IM client – or messenger type application if you prefer. It can be used to chat one on one, to group chat, to transfer files, to place voice and video calls, and even to share the desktop.

It also has a few extra features to offer:
Reminders – set up reminders, set it up so the PC will be automatically shut down, logged off, or restarted, set it so an application will run at a certain time, set it so a certain website will be accessed automatically at a certain time.
Notes – take notes, manage your notes.
Mail – send email messages to others.

Output Messenger provides support for Windows 2003, XP, and so on. Thanks to a straightforward setup wizard, you won’t have any problems installing Output Messenger on a PC that runs Microsoft’s Windows operating system. When you’re done with the installation and you launch Output Messenger for the first time, you will be asked to connect to a server; after successfully establishing a connection, you will be asked to sign in with your username and password.

This is where I have to tell you about Output Messenger Server. It’s is quite easy to install the server on a Windows PC. It has an easy to navigate interface. It makes it very easy to create a server, add new users, and manage all the settings. Your company’s IT department won’t have any problems setting it up. And if you don’t have a dedicated IT department, using Output Messenger Server is such a simple matter that you won’t have any problems using it to set up a server.

Getting back to the client, Output Messenger has a simple interface: a list of contacts front and center, a search box at the top so you can easily find a contact, a box to enter a custom status message also at the top, and a dropdown to select a predefined status message at the bottom. Check out the Quick Look video that accompanies this article to see how easy it is to navigate Output Messenger’s interface.

I mentioned above that Output Messenger provides support for any Windows edition from Windows 2003 onward. I have to add that the Output Messenger client is also available for Apple's Mac OS X and iOS and for Google’s Android mobile operating system.

The Output Messenger client is free. The server is free to use for 30 days.

Output Messenger is a very useful IM client. Besides IM, group chat, voice & video chat functionality, it also lets you manage notes, set up reminders, and send emails.
